Jaden Smith has once again become the center of online debate after paparazzi photos taken in Paris sparked criticism and fresh discussion about his unconventional public image.
The 27-year-old actor, musician, and fashion designer was in the French capital for Christian Louboutin’s Menswear Spring/Summer 2027 presentation during Paris Fashion Week. Jaden, who has served as the luxury brand’s men’s creative director since September 2025, attended the event alongside several members of his family.
Before the show, photographers captured Jaden stepping out of a vehicle wearing a white T-shirt, low-rise jeans, sneakers, and a chunky silver necklace. What quickly caught people’s attention, however, was that he appeared to be walking with his right hand tucked inside the front of his pants while holding a woman’s hand with his left.
The pair were later photographed arriving at Bar des Prés, the Paris restaurant owned by renowned French chef Cyril Lignac. Jaden was seen opening the door for his companion before the two headed inside.
The identity of the woman was not immediately confirmed, leading to widespread speculation online. Some fans believed she could be a new girlfriend, while others suggested she was Sabrina Zada, whom Jaden has been romantically linked to in the past.
Jaden and Sabrina were first connected in 2020 and were often photographed together over the following years. Reports claimed they split in 2024 after Jaden was seen kissing influencer Khleopatre, but the two were spotted together again in 2025, reigniting rumors that they had reconciled.
While many were curious about his companion, the biggest talking point on social media was Jaden’s posture and body language.
Critics quickly labeled the behavior as unhygienic and inappropriate, especially after photos appeared to show him entering a restaurant without first removing his hand from inside his pants.
One social media user commented, “This is exactly why you should always wash your hands before eating—you never know what someone touched before opening the door.”
Another questioned his fashion choice, writing, “What’s the point of wearing pants if they’re hanging down that low?”
Not everyone agreed with the criticism. Some pointed out that similar body language has been observed for years and has even been discussed by psychologists and body language experts.
Mental health professionals have suggested there are several possible explanations for why some men instinctively place their hands inside their trousers, particularly during moments of relaxation or stress.
Speaking to Vice in 2022, Dublin-based integrative psychotherapist Jo Ryder suggested that people often unconsciously adopt certain behaviors to feel a stronger sense of belonging within a social group.
Body language expert Martin Brooks also discussed the habit in an interview with The Times in 2025, suggesting it may reflect nervous energy, changing social norms, or even a subtle act of rebellion against traditional expectations.
The latest viral moment also renewed attention on the Smith family’s unconventional public image. Just days earlier, Jaden attended the Christian Louboutin event with his parents, Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith, his sister Willow Smith, his older half-brother Trey Smith, and his grandmother Adrienne Banfield-Norris.
Following the event, Will shared family photos on Instagram and said Jaden made him “a proud dad.”
As with many of his public appearances, Jaden’s latest outing quickly divided opinion online. While some viewed his behavior as inappropriate or attention-seeking, others argued it was an ordinary gesture that has been misunderstood and exaggerated by social media.
