Man Smiles for Photo With Girlfriend Moments Before Falling 650 Feet to His Death

A heartbreaking photograph has captured what would become a couple’s final happy moment together before tragedy struck.

Andrea Mazzetto, a 30-year-old from Italy, was enjoying a scenic hike with his girlfriend, Sara Bragante, near the town of Rotzo in northern Italy when a devastating accident occurred.

The couple paused at the breathtaking Altar Knotto rock formation to take a selfie. Smiling at the camera and enjoying their day outdoors, neither could have imagined what would happen just moments later.

According to reports, shortly after the photo was taken, Andrea accidentally dropped his cellphone. While attempting to retrieve it, he lost his balance and fell approximately 650 feet down a steep cliff.

Emergency responders quickly launched a rescue operation and even deployed a helicopter to reach the remote area. Sadly, despite their efforts, Andrea was pronounced dead at the scene.

Early reports suggested that Andrea had been trying to recover his girlfriend’s phone, but authorities later confirmed that it was actually his own device that had fallen.

Before the accident, Andrea had been sharing updates from the hike with his nearly 2,500 Instagram followers. Following the tragedy, Sara posted the now-famous selfie, describing it as their “cursed last photo.”

In an emotional tribute to her late boyfriend, she wrote: “You will always be with me, my little bear.”
