Years after stepping away from Hollywood following her highly publicized legal battle with Johnny Depp, Amber Heard has given fans a rare look at the quieter life she has built in Spain.
The 40-year-old actress has largely remained out of the public eye since her relationship with Depp became the center of one of the entertainment industry’s most closely watched legal disputes. Today, however, Heard appears focused on family, fitness, and a fresh start far from the spotlight.
Heard and Depp first met while filming The Rum Diary in 2011. Their romance eventually led to marriage, but the relationship ended after just over a year as husband and wife. What followed was a lengthy and highly publicized legal conflict that attracted worldwide attention.
Their dispute escalated when Depp filed a lawsuit over a 2018 Washington Post op-ed in which Heard described herself as a survivor of abuse, although she did not mention Depp by name. In 2022, a jury concluded that several of Heard’s statements were defamatory and awarded damages to the Pirates of the Caribbean star.
Since then, Heard has quietly relocated to Spain, where she is raising her children away from the intense media attention that once surrounded her life. She is now the mother of three children: her five-year-old daughter, Oonagh, and one-year-old twins, Agnes
and Ocean.
Long before leaving Hollywood, Heard often spoke about the importance of exercise in her daily life. Running, in particular, became one of her favorite ways to manage stress and maintain balance.
“I like running because it’s a way for me to alleviate stress, clear my mind, and refocus,” Heard previously said.
She also explained that running remained one of her favorite activities because it could be done almost anywhere, making it ideal for someone who spent much of her life traveling.
At the same time, Heard emphasized that health and fitness should never come at the expense of enjoying life.
“If you’re not going to enjoy life, there’s no point in eating a certain way and working out and doing all the things actors do to manipulate how we look — and how the world looks at us,” she said.
According to local reports and sightings from residents, Heard has become a familiar face in Madrid, where she is often seen jogging through the city as part of her regular routine.
Her passion for running was on full display on June 21 when she participated in the KLM Norte Sur 10K race in Madrid.
Following the event, Heard shared a rare update with fans on social media. She posted a smiling photo of herself wearing a pink running outfit and celebrated the accomplishment with the caption: “First race glow.”
Among the images she shared was a touching photograph of her embracing her daughter Oonagh after crossing the finish line. The emotional moment appeared to capture what the day meant to her.
Sharing the photo on Instagram Stories, Heard wrote a simple but heartfelt message: “Nothing beats this feeling.”
The post quickly attracted attention from fans, many of whom were pleased to see the actress looking happy and healthy after years of living under intense public scrutiny.
Supporters flooded social media with messages of encouragement and admiration.
