Like countless others, Carrie Underwood is grieving the loss of Dolly Parton.
Parton passed away on August 25 at the age of 80. Just a few days later, Underwood took the stage at the Tanglewood Music Center in Massachusetts, where she found a special way to honor the country music icon.
A video shared on social media shows Underwood performing in a meaningful jacket created as a tribute to Parton. The custom piece featured Dolly’s initials on the back, along with butterflies and one of Parton’s most memorable quotes: “Find out who you are and do it on purpose.”
The heartfelt detail made the performance even more emotional, giving Underwood a beautiful way to pay tribute to a woman who inspired generations of country music fans.
