There was a time when childhood meant freedom, laughter, and endless hours outside.
Back in 1986, kids didn’t need screens to be entertained. They had imagination, friends, and the world right outside their door.
They played hopscotch on the pavement, jumped rope until sunset, climbed trees, and ran through parks without a care. Scraped knees and dirty clothes were part of the fun. Every day was an adventure, and every moment was shared with others. Conversations happened face-to-face, and friendships were built in real life — not through a screen.
Now fast forward to 2026.
The world looks very different. Technology has taken over much of our daily lives, and childhood has changed with it. Many kids spend hours sitting quietly, eyes fixed on phones or tablets. Parks are emptier. Playgrounds are quieter. Instead of laughter and movement, there’s silence and scrolling.
The image above perfectly captures this contrast.
On one side, we see joy, connection, and life in motion.
On the other, isolation, distraction, and a world that feels more distant than ever.
This isn’t just about technology — it’s about what we may be losing along the way.
So the question is simple…
Which childhood would you choose?
