Country music legend Randy Travis is reaching into his archives to bring new music to his longtime fans.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Earlier this year, the \u201cForever and Ever, Amen\u201d singer announced that a new album was in the works. Following Travis\u2019 devastating stroke in 2013, many believed his days of making music were behind him. The stroke caused severe damage to the left side of his brain, leaving him with expressive aphasia, which affects his ability to speak and sing, as well as requiring long-term wheelchair use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
However, a combination of previously unreleased recordings and modern technology has helped make the new project possible. Travis\u2019 longtime producer, Kyle Lehning, remixed and remastered unreleased original recordings taken from the singer\u2019s decades-long career.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Randy Travis will release his first album of new music in more than 18 years on November 13. It will mark his 24th studio album. The 12-track project, Same Old Way<\/em>, features previously released songs including \u201cFish On\u201d and \u201cI Don\u2019t Care,\u201d along with several other tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n According to a press release, the songs \u201cspan Randy\u2019s distinguished recording career from 1986 to 2013.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n Travis shared:<\/p>\n\n\n\n \u201cWhen life throws you a curveball, swing for the fences the \u2018same old way\u2019 and hope you knock it out of the park! Team Travis helped me run the bases on this one, and it feels like a home run! It\u2019s a joy and a blessing to be able to bring new music to my listeners\u2014thank you all for still showing up for me.\u201d<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n On Friday, September 4, Randy Travis released the title track from his upcoming album, \u201cSame Old Way.\u201d Co-written with Kyle Lehning, the song brings Travis\u2019 classic country sound into the modern era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n Fans can listen to the new track below.<\/p>\n\n\n\n\n
