The news came more than a decade after Travis suffered a devastating stroke in 2013, an event that dramatically changed his life and left many wondering if he would ever be able to make music again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The stroke caused significant damage to the left side of his brain and resulted in expressive aphasia, affecting his ability to speak and sing. Travis has also required the use of a wheelchair since the stroke.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Despite those challenges, a combination of archival recordings and modern technology has allowed the country icon to return to the studio in a unique way. Working with longtime producer Kyle Lehning, Travis has revisited recordings made throughout his career, with previously unreleased material being remixed and remastered for the new project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Randy Travis Announces New Album<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Randy Travis is set to release his first album of new music in more than 18 years on November 13. Titled <em>Same Old Way<\/em>, the project will mark his 24th studio album and feature 12 tracks.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Several songs from the collection have already been released, including \u201cFish On\u201d and \u201cI Don\u2019t Care.\u201d According to the album\u2019s announcement, the songs were recorded at various points throughout Travis\u2019 remarkable career, spanning from 1986 through 2013.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Travis shared an emotional message about the project:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">\u201cWhen life throws you a curveball, swing for the fences the \u2018same old way\u2019 and hope you knock it out of the park! Team Travis helped me run the bases on this one, and it feels like a home run!
