\u201cSir, I need your license and registration,\u201d she said calmly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The man nodded and searched through the pockets of his soaked leather jacket before handing her the papers. She glanced at the registration, then looked back at him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cYour registration expired last month.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
For a moment, the biker lowered his eyes toward the rain-covered ground. His voice cracked when he answered.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cPlease\u2026 I know.\u201d He swallowed hard. \u201cI was gonna renew it. I just\u2026 I lost my job three weeks ago.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n
