Fans will have a special opportunity to watch two of Dolly Parton’s most beloved movies back on the big screen for a limited time this weekend.
The country music icon died on Tuesday, August 25, at the age of 80. Her team later revealed that she had been dealing with a brief battle with cancer.
Following Dolly’s passing, fans around the world have found countless ways to celebrate her remarkable life and legacy. Many have been listening to her music, with Variety reporting that her Spotify streams in the United States alone jumped by 2,320% this week.
Now, fans can add another tribute to their weekend plans by returning to the theater to watch two of Dolly’s memorable performances on the big screen.
From Friday, August 28, through Wednesday, September 2, AMC Theatres will host special screenings of both movies at approximately 200 locations across the country. Tickets will be available through AMC’s Fans Fave pricing tier.
For those living in Dolly’s home state of Tennessee, Regal Cinemas will also be showing the two films.
Tickets are priced at just $9.25 — a special nod to Dolly’s iconic hit “9 to 5.” Even more meaningfully, all proceeds will benefit Dolly’s childhood literacy organization, Imagination Library, as well as East Tennessee Children’s Hospital.
