Melania Trump has largely stayed out of the spotlight in recent years, but an old photo has once again put the former model and First Lady at the center of online attention.
A 2018 photo of Melania — taken during French President Emmanuel Macron’s state visit to Washington — has recently resurfaced and gone viral, but not because of politics or diplomacy.
Instead, social media users became fixated on one particular detail: Melania’s figure.
“I didn’t make any changes…”
Over the years, Melania Trump has faced plenty of speculation about her appearance, along with criticism over her fashion choices and public image. The fascination surrounding her looks has remained persistent, with one question repeatedly coming up: Has she ever had cosmetic surgery?
The former supermodel addressed those rumors during a 2016 interview with GQ, firmly denying that she had undergone cosmetic procedures.
“I didn’t make any changes… I live a healthy life, I take care of my skin and my body,” she said.
Melania also said she was not a fan of cosmetic injections.
“I’m against Botox, I’m against injections; I think it’s damaging your face, damaging your nerves. It’s all me. I will age gracefully, as my mom does.”
Despite those comments, an old photograph has now reignited the speculation.
The image shows Melania standing alongside French First Lady Brigitte Macron at the White House in 2018. Both women were dressed in elegant white outfits while their husbands, Donald Trump and French President Emmanuel Macron, were taking part in a three-day official visit to Washington.
The two first ladies stood next to each other, appearing relaxed as they posed for photographs.
But rather than focusing on the diplomatic occasion or their matching outfits, some social media users quickly turned their attention to Melania’s body.
“Wait… she’s been hiding that,” one person commented.
The comments quickly escalated
Another user took a much harsher approach, writing: “One is a ‘golddigger’ who paid for b*tt implants. The other is a classy French woman whose husband is Prime Minister.”
Soon, the comment section was filled with accusations and jokes about possible cosmetic surgery.
“I think this means you develop an a** when you’re married to one,” another person joked.
“A fake a** on Melania. All surgery,” someone else claimed.
“One has a peach and one has pancakes,” another commenter wrote.
Still, plenty of people pushed back against the discussion, arguing that women naturally have different body shapes.
“Different women have different bodies. Pretty shocking, right?” one person responded.
“She can’t even open a window…”
When the photograph was originally taken, Brigitte Macron spoke to French newspaper Le Monde about her experiences with Melania.
“She can’t even open a window at the White House. She can’t go outside,” Brigitte reportedly said. “She’s much more constrained than I am. I go out every day in Paris.”
Despite the restrictions surrounding Melania’s public life, Brigitte described her as someone who was warm and enjoyable to be around.
“She’s really fun,” Brigitte said. “We have the same sense of humour. We laugh a lot together.”
She also suggested that Melania’s reserved public personality may not reflect what she is really like in private.
“Everything is interpreted, over-interpreted,” Brigitte explained. “She’s someone who has a strong personality, but works hard to hide it. She laughs very easily, at everything, but shows it less than I do. She’s kind, charming, intelligent, and very open.”
Since Donald Trump returned to the White House for a second term, Melania has continued to maintain a relatively low public profile.
According to a source cited by People, however, she is not particularly concerned about constantly being in the headlines.
“Melania couldn’t care less how she looks politically,” the source said.
The insider also explained that her quiet demeanor should not necessarily be interpreted as being cold or uninterested.
“Just because she is quiet in a crowd doesn’t mean she is aloof, not listening, or necessarily disinterested. Her mind is filled with what she does every day, her own life, and what interests her.”
The source added that Donald and Melania have developed their own way of living.
“Donald does his thing, and she does hers… She tells it like it is when they talk and he listens. Does he do what she says? Not necessarily, but it has happened.”
Even while keeping a relatively low profile, Melania continues to attract attention whenever an old photo or comment resurfaces.
